Miss California Carrie Prejean stripped of title

Famous Billionaire, Donald Trump, has finally fired Miss USA pageant winner Miss California Carrie Prejean. Donald Trump issued a statement citing Miss California Carrie Prejean failed to honor her commitments as Miss USA.

Ms. Prejean, who stirred up trouble for herself when she said gays shouldn’t be allowed to marry, got a reprieve from the owner of Miss USA pageant less than a month ago when racy photos of her began circulating the Internet. Miss USA pageant owner, Donald Trump, decided that Ms. Prejean would still be allowed to keep her.

Although Ms. Prejean’s photos were just mild, officials of the pageant said she also violated her contract by not disclosing the photos’ existence to them.
When Trump initially decided to keep Prejean on, Lewis’ co-executive director, former Miss USA Shanna Moakler resigned in protest of Mr. Trump’s action.

“The Miss California USA Organization, in conjunction with the Miss Universe Organization and with the blessing of its owner, Mr. Donald J. Trump, announced today the termination of Carrie Prejean as Miss California USA 2009, citing continued breach of contract issues,” the Miss California Organization said in a statement.

Pageant’s Executive Director, Keith Lewis, told reporters that the decision was made due to contract violations that includes Ms. Prejean’s unwillingness to make appearances on behalf of the Miss California USA organization. He had complained at a news conference last month that Prejean was skipping Miss California USA events while speaking out against gay marriage at unsanctioned appearances.

Pageant officials said Ms. Prejean would be replaced by the Miss California pageant’s first runner-up, Tami Farrell, 24, who was crowned Miss Teen USA in 2003. They had announced last month that Farrell was being named a special ambassador to fill in for Prejean at any events she didn’t attend.

Last month, when Ms. Prejean’s title was in question when her semi-nude photos began circulating the Internet, Miss California pageant’s second runner-up, Miss Malibu Tami Farrell, was asked if she is ready to step in to wear the tiara, she said “I would be honored to represent the state of California if they need me for my responsibilities as first runner-up,I wouldn’t mind stepping into the spotlight.”
